ILM Abogados

They don't sell legal services — they sell trust.

ILM Abogados is a consumer-law firm with offices in Madrid and Oviedo. Since 2003 it has been led by Moisés Porto and Miguel Iglesias, and it charges only if it wins.

What we noticed

A firm with twenty years of won cases had a template website that let you feel none of them. The studio portraits and a corporate video were there, used as decoration. The proof — the kind that steadies someone about to take on a bank — was buried in the text.

Why it mattered

The person who comes to ILM has usually already lost something and fears losing more. They choose on trust, and trust is settled before a single clause is read. If the site doesn't carry it, the best record in the world never gets told.

What changed

The site was written from one line: «No trabajamos para los bancos. Trabajamos para las personas a las que han tratado mal» — we don't work for the banks; we work for the people they've treated badly. The won cases moved to the front. The colour came not from a brief but from inside the firm itself: a deep bordeaux that showed up in a corporate folder in one of their own photographs, chosen over the usual legal blue.

The first version was built in shadow, reaching for gravity. It read funereal. A firm that exists to reassure can't greet you with the lights off, so it was turned around: the light of an office, the portrait clean and face-on, the darkness kept for a single moment — the ledger of won cases — where it earns its weight.

What became possible

The work began without a commission, as a test, and the firm chose to circulate it internally. It isn't published yet. What remained wasn't so much a new website as something harder to manufacture: a relationship that grew by initiative — first some photographs, then a video, then the whole way of presenting itself.
