Boost Banner
A live band, not a studio one — what's left is the nights.
Boost Banner is a stoner-rock, hardcore and punk band from Heilbronn, Germany — «aus Heilbronx». It's small, local, and plays far more than it records.

Almost everything the band documents is live: most of their videos are gigs, and their own Instagram highlights are filed by years of playing, not by «music / band / shop». The first idea, as usual, led with the record. But the record is the souvenir; the product is the nights.

At this scale, honesty is the asset. Any inflation — fake press, vanity numbers — is the fastest way to lose a band that knows exactly what it is. And the gaps in the archive aren't a problem to hide: they're the proof of a group that plays more than it has time to record.

The site was turned around into a year-by-year ledger — «Die Nächte», the nights — where the record thins as it goes back: 2025 reads «Nichts gefunden», nothing found; 2026 reads «Gespielt. Kein Mitschnitt», played, no recording. The monster drawn by Uli, the band's lyricist, is spent at full force exactly twice: the cover and the link preview.
And because the archive is headed «Nur was auf Band ist» — only what made it onto tape — the player had to be a cassette deck, not a turntable: a turntable would have contradicted the sentence. It isn't a retro wink; it's their biography made object — the tape is, literally, what they recorded. You wind it to the track, the counter landing on positions taken from the real running times.
A small band, presented seriously, at the scale of real work. It's a study, not a commission: a private link, nothing published or launched. The band's contact opened it and passed it around with enthusiasm — «Wow. Mega» — but enthusiasm isn't adoption, and there are no results to show, nor will any be invented.
A band that plays more than it records, finally told that way.
An independent design study, published with the band's permission.
